A procurement agent is an AI agent that carries out purchasing tasks on an organization’s behalf — sourcing vendors, comparing offers, and placing or paying for orders within a set mandate. Because it can spend without a person signing off on each transaction, its authority and budget have to be enforced and recorded automatically.
